Musee D'Orsay and more

A favorite in 1996, and here it is again. Peter and John are running to the tomb early on Sunday morning... can it be true? Is He risen??

Besides the usual favorites.. a few new ones took my fancy. I think Tolouse-Lautrec caught her attitude in lady with black boa... lots of information in her eyes.
A special exhibit of work by Jules Bastien-Lepage was excellent.. the old working grandfather and the young'un joyfully discovering the meadow.
A different scene than usual by Van Gogh inside his asylum in Arles.
Time continues to tick along.. again, what are we doing here??

A 20+ piece brass band letting it loose by the campus on Easter Monday. Lots of fun - Sorry, I did not purchase the CD. Nice to have dinner out with John & Kathy Stoessel last night.. in English! Chris off to Poitiers.

Today, Easter Sunday... had an excellent time at St Mikes ENGLISH church worshipping, which finished with the full organ and choir doing the finale from Handels Messiah.. just makes ya wanna sing! We walked the Tuileries and the outside of the Louve on our way home. We went through the Cluny musee... Chris' favorite time period in history is Medieval/Celtic. The Lady and the Unicorn tapestries he has used during his medical school lectures. We saw 3rd century gold celtic torcs - (Ben - remember the Lawhead books?)



And then there was the REAL tapestry of the one we brought home from France in 1996.. certainly larger and older than the one on my library wall in Vancouver. Fits well with our goal to rest and produce a fruitful harvest in the future. Happy Easter!

Easter Friday we had the good fortune of sitting in the Luxemborg Gardens to observe the ever efficient police blowing whistles at the people who dared to "pelouse interdit". Deja vu a Lyon! The Cafe de Flore was E11 pour deux tasse! Wow, that's gotta be good cafe!

We are here for a time of refreshing and rest.

Good Friday in Paris

So, finally we are blogging! It is the beginning of Easter Weekend - Le Paques.

Sarah gave us this magnet for our fridge.. which is a great message for our time here. Be still and know that I am God.
Our arrival in Paris went well.. saturated with sunshine. We have a beautiful apartment on the 5th floor (yeah for an elevator!) with 5 skylights... lots of space, peace and quiet, close to blvd St-Michel at the door of the Sorbonne. Chris is two blocks from his office, and we are two blocks from Luxemborg gardens. First week has been spent finding basics in the stores, and investigating our neighborhood. We sat on the Trocadero across from the Eiffel Tower and watched the sunset last Tuesday, and are starting now to realize where we are. C'est incroyable!
